The Merz Barn project at the Royal Academy

Wednesday 30th March. 11am to 8.30pm
11am - 1.00pm The Merz Barn in context exhibition: the history and background to Kurt Schwitters’ Merz Barn project in Cumbria; displays by other leading Cumbrian arts, heritage and cultural organisations.
1.00pm Official opening and VIP reception: Tim Farron MP (MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, Chairman of the Liberal Democrat Party/Coalition Government) and Charles Saumarez Smith, CEO Royal Academy.
Tim Farron MP wil then introduce His excellency Derek Leask New Zealand High Commissioner in London and Rosanna Raymond artist/curator LITTORAL Trustee. The artists' representative from Cumbria and NW England wil then present the cheque to His Excellency the High Commission for New Zealand as gesture of solidarity and in support for the artists and arts community in Christchurch who have suffered as a result of the recent earthquake in New Zealand.
